It’s obvious that they are considered valuable to politicians. All they do for parents is to further reenforce the lies by people that really don’t know what they are talking about. These politicians keep these parents in fear and lead them to believe that they (politicians)will protect them, when paradoxically they (including law enforcement)are able to protect no-one. This started as and continues to be a vehicle for certain people to further their personal ambitions. It is a sickness that has infected the western world. Truly; it sickens me every time I see one of these people and others of their kind applauding themselves and holding themselves up as some sort of savior because of their deeds, which are nothing but oppression. They enrich themselves at the expense of others and have caused society to digress, rather than to move forward; what fools!

Politicians have been enjoying this low hanging fruit for years at the expense of many innocent family members.

Ignorance is beyond understanding and fear is beyond reasoning. Hate is the next natural result of this situation. This makes a winning combination that fits conveniently in the strategic arsenal of politicians, which they in turn exploit shamelessly. Too bad they haven’t faced the reality of the unnecessary damage to children and families of ex offenders who have suffered not only emotionally but also financially with the needless ruination of income potential, especially for those who were already established decades after they served their sentences and paid their debts to society.

So the short answer is: Politicians – period.
